A 17-year-old girl has been stabbed to death at a park in east London.
Police were called to St Neots Road, Harold Hill, Romford, at about 21:30 GMT on Friday.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police has begun a murder investigation, although no arrests have been made. The girl's next-of-kin have been informed, and a post-mortem examination is due to be held.
She is the first teenage girl to die in the capital this year.
She became the 18th person to be killed in London this year, and the fifth teenager to die.
Last year, two 17-year-old girls and one 18-year-old woman were murdered in London.

Yeah - was reading about this earlier - just a stone's throw from where I was born.
Used to play in that park regularly when my parents took us to visit their old neighbours of a Sunday, every month or so.
That "tipping point"/flashpoint is getting awfully close.

Blimey.
You always suspect with these stabbings that there is some connection with the perpetrators and victims and that they are known to each other via some dodgy dealings.
Scary if not.

Stop and search needs to be brought back in, I don’t care if the liberal brigade think it’s racist it needs doing.
Carrying a knife = 7 years
Using a knife = 12 years
Murder = 30 years

My Nephews old man my brother in law is involved in certain things and people I don't think its anything to do that but for sure they will find who did it

Sadiq Khan wrings his hands with this but is too timid to stand up to those that baulk at stop and search.
He blames the government cuts to police but would a few more police employed really stop stabbings.
Not in my opinion. They need targetted stop and search with compulsory penalties for carrying without good cause.

The police - as such - won't be "watching" this site.
What generally happens is a bot scans sites and flags up certain words or phrases for further investigation.
These are then further graded on a "Flavour of the month" basis to reduce the investigation time down to what the number of officers allocated to the task can handle.
I suspect this site is graded as "Angry, impotent old men letting off steam", or something similar.

Its being enabled but the cuts in the police and no real significant capture rates to the culprits
I don't the her old man personally but my nephew will what a terrible time for him and my nephews wife and him himself

RM10 - it was in Essex when I was born (1956) but East London when I left the area in 1976.
It may well soon move back in an attempt to reduce the crime rate in London.
